This piece is an oil pastel portrait of myself. Once completed, it is meant to be a 3D piece with myself in a trashcan, complimented by other shiny trash. The meaning behind this is how hollow our identities can be. They rely on things such as beauty standards, societal expectations, media, etc. Lots of these things we see as important are empty. The colorful, romanticized portrait of myself on a piece or cardboard - often seen as trash - and in a trash can, symbolizes this meaninglessness.
