SCHOLASTIC ART COMPETITION REGIONAL SILVER KEY
This piece is a reflection of myself. The background is math homework - symbolizing how academics have become essential to my identity. The papers are wrinkled, torn, and uneven. I am drawn in black and white, looking away in the distance. The only color on the sheet is red marks. There are red slashes and crosses where points were taken off, and the score 99. All these symbols are negative. The purpose of red marks was to show the unhealthy side of academic obsession, and how I - and no one - can be perfect.
